Our Fundraising Committee is working hard towards raising monies for the restoration of the Church Bell Tower and Spire. The high level work on the Spire is complete. Some of the lower level Spire stonework is unfinished as we were unable to fund its replacement. This stonework is accessible from the Tower parapet and will be replaced when we have the funds, hopefully we will be able to raise this money to enable the work to be undertaken when work starts on the Tower stonework. The two upper lucernes have had oak panels (with ventilation holes) fitted and the two lower lucernes have had Louvres fitted. This is to keep out the wet and the birds nesting. The total cost spent was £81,000, £50,000 of this was met with a grant from English Heritage.
